"I am obsessed with adorning, particularly
curtains and window treatments. There seems to be something of an epidemic in newspapers of images displaying collections of curtains and window treatments. I've clipped out each one displaying the rooms during which have actually cute window shades or sheer curtains. Curtains came to me after more than a decade of tailoring and sample-making. It was June of 2005 when the curtain bug was born within me. I turned obsessive about material and window coverings, devouring books, instruction manuals and touring to satisfy different curtain-makers. I grew to become fascinated with sculptural type of suspended cloth, and the way that cloth functions as a filter between the inside and outside. I turned aware of the intimate nature of the curtain when used within the home, how the opening of curtains signified easy things just like the welcoming of the new day, or the act of drawing the curtains before bedtime provided mandatory heat, softness and comfort. On this approach the curtain transcends the easy objective of aesthetics, it brings us a sense of privateness, texture, peace. Anyway, now I can return to my obsession with making a little girl room. Some of the selections have been agonizing though. You?d assume I was designing a room for the president, but nope, a little girl who in all probability doesn?t care about complementing colors or window treatments.
